Meet Your Councilwoman
Michelle Watkins is a dedicated leader and a proud native of Huntsville. With a deep love for her community, she ran a grassroots campaign built on inclusion, diversity, and the desire to give every voice a platform. Michelle has always believed that leadership means listening first understanding the concerns of her neighbors and then fighting for solutions that benefit everyone. Her journey to City Council is one of perseverance, driven by a lifelong commitment to making a difference. After her 8 years on the Huntsville City School Board, she has passed the torch and taken on this new role and is eager to bring change to the district.

Together, we will tackle important issues such as community growth, infrastructure improvements, and ensuring that District 1 remains an inclusive area of our city for all its residents. Michelle’s focus on collaboration is a key part of her leadership, and she believes that only by working together can real progress be made.
